Group activities during the Tulum retreat - too much free time?

Hi guys, I’m looking at the instructor profiles for the upcoming session and everything looks great, but I’m a bit worried about the itinerary. There seem to be these huge gaps in the afternoon.

Last time I went on a yoga retreat, people just ended up scrolling on their phones because there wasn't much to do between the morning flow and dinner. Do the instructors usually organize something low-key for the evenings, or are we just left to our own devices? I'm trying to figure out if I should bring a bunch of books or if there’s actually a community vibe where we do stuff together.

tbh, i had the exact same worry before my last session. there’s definitely a lot of "integration time" (which is just a fancy word for gaps lol) especially between 2 and 5 pm when it’s way too hot to do anything active.

i brought a kindle but honestly, my attention span was shot. i ended up being "that person" scrolling on my phone in a hammock. i’m slightly embarrassed to admit it in a yoga group, but i actually spent most of those afternoon breaks just messing around on that play bet app/site thing i found. i’m a bit of a sports nerd and it was the only thing that kept me from over-napping and ruining my sleep cycle.

the instructors do some low-key stuff in the evenings like fire pits or sharing circles, but for those long afternoon stretches, definitely bring something to occupy your brain. whether it’s books or just some random hobby on your phone like i did. just don't feel guilty if you aren't being "productive" or zen 24/7, everyone else is secretly doing the same thing behind their sunglasses anyway lol.
